Massey Ferguson Dyna VT Transmission

Massey Ferguson Dyna VT Transmission

If you have a Massey Ferguson Dyna VT with the Fendt Vario Back end that’s been remapped you will not be getting all the available power to the wheels, you will only get limited power through the transmission, though the initial and mid power will be improved slightly with the extra power there’s still much more to come. The heavier loads, hill work and any non PTO work will be limited by reaching a certain fuel consumption figure (L/H) depending on engine size. Full remapped power will be available to the PTO and there will be less drop off of power to the wheels during PTO work due to there being more power available up to the point of the limit but if you want all the available power to the wheels you need a Power Hold Emulator. Agri Remaps can now provide Power Hold Emulators to fit all Massey Ferguson Dyna VT Transmissions. The Power Hold Emulator allows the use of full engine power to the wheels at all times under all conditions.

What do the emulators do for your Massey Ferguson Dyna VT?

Often you will notice that on longer or steep hills with a heavy load the power through the Vario Transmission dies off and you loose speed, The Vario Gearbox Power Hold Emulator allows a constant pull, allowing the transmission to use all the available engine power when needed helping prevent speed loss without overloading the transmission. The Power Hold Emulator also allows improved acceleration when peak power is required.

If you check the l/h consumption you will see that its capped as standard, when accelerating with a load the l/h fuel usage will hit a peak limit meaning acceleration is limited and as demand increases this cap will be reached again meaning the speed starts to decrease. Once you are at cruising speed on the flat the l/h will drop to the standard rate.

Additionally to transmission use only, the Power Hold Emulators are particularly noticeable when using implements with higher PTO demand such as big square balers etc, each time the plunger compresses the PTO power demand can push the l/h to its cap (depending on the tractor size) reducing the power to the Vario Transmission and slowing forward speed, the Power Hold Emulators help reduce the lurch and maintain smoother operation.

As with all Transmissions Dyna VT or not there are always concerns for damage and reliability. Most Dyna VT transmission damage these days is usually a result of misuse. Damage often occurs when the transmission is used for heavy breaking with large loads, pulling back sharply on the joystick or letting the engine try to slow the tractor without using the brakes properly, or poor maintenance. Obviously some failures are related to mechanical failure or down to wear, even faults or faulty components, but those are unavoidable Power Hold Emulator or not. Its also important to carry out draft work and general field work in low ratio and rather than high even thought the tractor may seem like it is capable.

The extra power the Power Hold Emulator allows is a gradual increase when needed not a surge, sudden step, or large increase in power.

If you are looking to get the most out of your Massey Ferguson Remap the Power Hold Emulators are a must have, Transforming your Dyna VT transmission allowing you to use all the horsepower when needed.
