Valtra Q & S Series Agco CVT ML260

Valtra Q or S series CVT have been treated to the Agco CVT ML260 transmission. If you have one of these remapped you will not get all the engine power to the wheels through the transmission, although the initial acceleration and mid pull will be slightly improved, the heavy loads and hill work will still be limited by reaching the fuel consumption cap figure (l/h Engine size dependent). Full power will be available to the PTO and there will be slightly less drop off of power during PTO work to the wheels due to there being more available up to the point of the fuel limit. If you want all the available power you’ve invested into the wheels you need a Power Hold Emulator.
Agri Remaps can provide Power Hold Emulator to fit all Valtra CVT’s with Agco CVT ML260 Transmissions. The Emulator allows full power from the engine to the wheels in all conditions. The Valtra Power Hold Emulators are plug and play and different versions are available depending on model if required.

What do the emulators do for your Valtra Q Series?

The Power Hold Emulator will make a bigger difference to power to the wheels than any remap can due to the way power is limited.

Often you will notice that on steep or longer hills with heavy loads the power through the CVT  transmission drops off instead of staying constant, and the tractor speed starts to slow. The Valtra Gearbox emulator allows a constant pull, allowing the transmission to use all the available engine power without overloading the transmission. The emulator also allows improved acceleration when peak power is required. It allows the transmission to perform more in line with a geared tractor.

If you check the l/h consumption you will see they stop at a cap as standard, when accelerating with a load the l/h fuel usage will hit a peak limit meaning acceleration is limited and as load increases this cap will be reached again meaning the speed starts to decrease. Once you are at cruising speed the on the flat l/h will drop to the standard rate.

As with all Transmissions types CVT or otherwise I understand the reliability concerns. The Agco CVT transmission is relatively new in the Valtra, but damage caused these days to the same vario unit used in other brands is usually a result of misuse. Damage often occurs when being used heavily for breaking with large loads, pulling back sharply on the joystick, letting the engine try to slow the tractor without using the brakes properly, or poor maintenance. Obviously some failures are mechanical or down to wear, even faults or faulty components, but those are unavoidable emulator or not. Its also important to remember to carry out draft and general field work in low ratio rather than high even thought the tractor may seem like it can manage it easily.

The extra power the emulator allows is a gradual increase when needed not a sudden step, surge or massive increase in power.

If you are looking to get the most out of your Remapped Valtra Q or S series the Power Hold Emulators are a must have, allowing you to use all the horsepower when needed.

These are currently made to order and have large demand so please get in touch for an approx delivery date.
